Best Restaurants in North Creek: Our Go-To Spots to Eat

One of the most common questions we get is simple: “Where should we eat?”

The short answer: you’ve got solid options nearby. The better answer: it depends on your mood. Most guests mix it up. One or two meals out, the rest at home. That tends to be the sweet spot.

Here’s how we usually guide people.

Easy, Casual, and Great with Groups

These are your low-effort, reliable spots. Perfect after a long day or when no one wants to overthink dinner.

Kelly’s (Wevertown)
Great with kids and groups. Think wings, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, and quick breakfasts. This is one of the easiest go-to spots, especially before a ski day.

Beck’s Tavern
A little more going on here. They’ve got yurts with game rooms, pool tables, and space to hang out. Good if your group wants something casual but a bit more interactive.

The Barking Spider
This is where locals go. Relaxed, unpretentious, and social. If you want a beer and a laid-back Adirondack vibe, this is it.

Breakfast & Coffee

Starting your day right makes a big difference, especially in winter.

Marsha’s
Classic home cooking. Nothing fancy, just done really well. Don’t skip the fries, potato salad, macaroni salad, or homemade desserts. This is a guest favorite for a reason.

Cafe Sarah
Perfect for a lighter start. Coffee, baked goods, and a more relaxed feel.
Great if not everyone in your group is moving at the same pace in the morning.

A Nicer Night Out (Worth Planning Ahead)

If you’re doing one “let’s go out” dinner, make it count.

Friends Lake Inn
Your best option for a more elevated meal. Elegant dining plus a bistro-style bar if you want something a little more relaxed. Ideal for a slower, more intentional night.

Garnet Hill Lodge
The views alone are worth it. It genuinely feels a bit like the Alps. The menu leans upscale but still works with families. A great balance of special and comfortable.

A Few Worth the Short Drive

If you’re heading out for the day or want to explore a bit more.

The Place (Loon Lake area)
Not fancy inside, but that’s part of the charm. Italian food that feels like it came straight from someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. Simple and really good.

Lake George (on the water)
If you’re down there, there are plenty of waterfront spots. Good for a change of pace and a more lively atmosphere.

The Log Jam (Lake George outlets area)
If you’re outlet shopping, this is an easy win.
Log cabin setting, usually a fire going, and a surprisingly great salad bar. Solid, dependable stop.

What We Actually Recommend

Most groups think they’ll go out a lot more than they do.

In reality, it usually looks like this:

  • One nice dinner out

  • One casual meal out

  • Everything else at the house

And honestly, that’s where 5 Star Lodge shines.

The kitchen is built so the cook isn’t stuck alone. The great room keeps everyone connected. Dinner turns into hanging out without needing to go anywhere. That’s usually what people remember most.

Great local food shopping options near by…be sure to checkout Oscar’s Smokehouse in Warrensburg and the local farmer’s markets in the summer.

Reservations & Planning Tips

  • Make reservations for nicer spots like Friends Lake Inn and Garnet Hill Lodge, especially on weekends or during peak seasons

  • Casual spots are usually first come, first served

  • Hours can vary, especially in off-season, so check ahead

  • Things wind down early compared to bigger towns

Good to Know Before You Head Out

  • North Creek is small, which is part of the charm

  • Dining options are solid, but not endless, so a little planning helps

  • Takeout is a great option for groups

  • After a full day, staying in often ends up being the better plan

Final Thoughts

You can absolutely go out and explore the local food scene. But, most guests end up doing something simpler- A good meal out, then back to the house. Cooking together. Sitting around the table. Not rushing anywhere.

If you do that, you’re doing it right.
